Crap I made with K'Nex

Everybody loves Lego. Nowadays it's all Lego this and Lego that. There are two Lego movies now as well as loads of Lego video games and tie-ins with other franchises.

But when I was a kid I liked K'Nex. I had two suitcase-style plastic boxes full of the stuff. Actually, I still have them now, except they’re in my dad’s loft, gathering dust.

When you followed the instructions, you could make cool stuff like this plane:

This windmill:

And this bulldozer I made for my brother:

But sometimes I would try to make something original. It would usually turn out shit.

A blurry Christmas tree

Here's a blurry photo of a K'Nex Christmas tree I made:

Judging from that photo, I don't think I'll be getting a job as a K'Nex designer any time soon. Or a job as a photographer for that matter.

A blurry walking creature thing

I also used a K'Nex motor to make this little legged creature:

It would run around the kitchen and bump into things. It was actually quite cool. If by cool you mean nerdy.

A house with no walls

Sometimes I made a house out of K'Nex:

That house is useless though as there are no walls. And all it would take is one strong gust of wind and it would blow over.

Still though, given the cost of houses today, that moment then was probably the closest I'll ever come to owning my own house.

A tower prone to falling over

The greatest thing I ever built was a tower:

It was twice my height. However, it was prone to falling down. Still, I'd say that tower was my life's greatest achievement.
