Theme park ride photos

6th November 2020

When we went to theme parks, my dad would often buy the ride photo, despite it costing around £6, an hour's wages.

Thank god he did that or we wouldn't have the photos I'm about to show you.

Here they are.

Alton Towers – The Black Hole

Here we are in 1999 on The Black Hole at Alton Towers.

Check out my dad's expression. How do you even pull a face like that by accident?

Here's another photo of The Black Hole, this time from 2000. I'm playing it cool in this one. I knew exactly where the camera was and so I did a thoughtful pose while everyone else was screaming.

This man in the back though:

It looks like his eyes are popping out of his head. He looks like M. Night Shyamalan with Graves disease.

Drayton Manor – The Rapids

Here's a wholesome photo of us on the rapids.

I really think that the best thing in life is not love or sunshine or even heroin, but the rapids at Drayton Manor and Alton Towers. There's no match for the level of excitement and hilarity.

Legoland – Pirate Falls

I have this photo of a ride called Pirate Falls. By our expressions, it looks pretty extreme. Who would have guessed that a simple Lego ride would be the most extreme experience of all?

My brother had a bowl hair cut (probably my mom cut it herself with the help of an actual bowl). The ride is somehow making his hair float up in the air:

Drayton Manor – The Log Flume

Another water-themed ride: the log flume at Drayton Manor.

My brother looks like he's just a baby. How did they even let him on the ride?

He looks like Maggie wearing her starfish snowsuit.

My dad looks like he's straining to do a poo:

Finally, here's another photo of a log flume: the log flume at Alton Towers in 2000. We really liked collecting photos of log flumes for some reason.

This is the kind of photo you want in your family photo collection. Fun and wholesome. Look at that genuine excitement.

My little brother looks a bit traumatised though.

Just now it took me a while to remember whether it's called a Log "Flume" or a Log "Fume". I'm getting retarded.
