British 90s nostalgia and shite

There used to be a website called CS-Nation that was all about Counter-Strike. Its domain was www.csnation.net.

One of the best things about CS-Nation was "Counter-Crap". Counter-Crap was a series of animations that people made with Macromedia Flash. The animations were humourous spoofs of Counter-Strike. The animations were poor but that only added to the humour.

The owner of the site was someone called 'rizzuh'. Thanks to the Wayback Machine, I've uncovered his comments about Counter-Crap:

Hello, I'm rizzuh. I run this site, CS-Nation. Let me tell you about Counter-Crap. Counter-Crap was originally a small-time comic strip that a CS-Nation team member named SecurityGuard eventually made a cult hit. From the comic strips came flash movies.

Official Counter-Craps

First came the 'official' Counter-Crap animations. They were made by two users called SecurityGuard and champu. Here's a rundown of the official flashes.

Simply hilarious, despite (or perhaps because) its utterly crappy look. You can tell at least five minutes of work went into this one. 9/10

School Daze

Pretty funny all around, but the dialog is straight out of Boring Times in a Crappy Movie. Bonus points for being the first flash Counter-Crap to use hand-drawn characters that are passable (unlike the first flash crap). 8/10

CS-Nation Talent Show

Interactive, hilarious, and a brilliant ending; the only thing that makes this movie get below a ten is the that most of the things are inside jokes. You won't really laugh unless you know your CS-Nation history! Marks the first time an anti-rizzuh/RzE message was put in flash format. Assholes. 9/10

Counter-Fantasy

A parody of Final Fantasy VII's trailer. Or something. I'm not a azn-super-spy so I don't really know the backstory, but anything that makes fun of me with some sort of weight reference is grand. Or horrible. This is champu's work. 7/10

A New Start

Counter-Crap hadn't been updated in months. It was now time for SecurityGuard to announce Counter-Crap's new fate: a fake flash just to piss me off. In either case, the Benny Hill "running around" music and the actual, uh, running around makes you laugh because everyone hates the British. 10/10

RzE counter-craps

As well as the official counter-craps were ones made by the community. Many of these made fun of the owner of CS-Nation, Rizzuh.

The RzE phase of Counter-Crap was largely user-made, but it was undoubtedly the most popular. Basically, they all made fun of me (RzE/rizzuh), which is hilarious because I am a horrible human being.

'Dancing RzE' by Lykwid

There's no copy of this one online anymore.

This flash started the while "lol I hate RzE" phase of Counter-Crap.. And it's pretty damn funny seeing me dance, too. 8/10

'The Fat Ass CT' by Lykwid

There's no copy of this one online anymore either. It featured Rizzuh getting stuck in a doorway.

Continuing the series, Lykwid delivers another grand flash. 9/10

'Trouble in Jeepathon2k' by Peto

This was my favourite Counter-Crap. It featured rizzuh as a fat bastard who drives a jeep and dreams of pizza.

Probably the best Counter-Crap ever made. Absolutely hilarious. The best part is the pizza thought bubble. BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT! 10/10

There were also a few interactive flashes. You had to be sure to click on the items on-screen or else you looked like a jackass.

Defuse

The first interactive Counter-Crap. Mildly entertaining, only not really. 6/10

Defuse a Bomb

Another defusing one, this flash is actually entertaining unless you get it right the first time. Then you have the task of finding out the pad combo (this flash was made before 2001, so we're not terrorists or anything). Yay. 8/10

'Out of Ammo' by peto

Simpsons references all the way, pal. The successful one is hilarious in light of narby's horrible mapping ideas. 10/10

Choose Your Own Adventure!

Okay well that wasn't entertaining. Good effort though! 7/10

What became of CS:Nation and Counter-Crap?

In 2011, CS:Nation merged with another site, Total Gaming Network. In 2012, anyone trying to visit the CS:Nation website was redirected to the Total Gaming Network instead.

Today, www.csnation.net is owned by some marketing company.

However, you can still find most of the Counter-Crap flashes on youtube: youtube.
